At the moment, the castle is not open for visitors.

The Guthman Valenta Castle is supposed to have been built in the 16th century (1553) and transformed in the 18th century. Probably this building also used to belong to the Haller family. What is known about its past is that starting from the middle of the 19th century, Károly Gutenau (1836-1907), leaving his function as a judge, started to work on the field belonging to this building. In 1885 he was elected Member of Parliament, so Count János Haller took over the estate. The monument is a single-storey building of 500-sqm on a 75 acres of land. There is no plaster on the interior walls of the building and in most places the ceiling is collapsed. The building is completely lacking windows, electricity, heating and sewage networks. The front and side entrance of the building are in poor condition, in danger of collapsing, and the rear terrace has already collapsed. There is a 300-sqm vaulted cellar that belongs to the building. The walls of the cellar have collapsed in several places, they are incomplete and show signs of flooding. The entrance of the cellar is in danger of collapsing and its rebuilding is necessary. The survey of the building's art history is in progress.

The easiest way to access the locality of Hoghiz is by car: from Brașov via the road E60, in the direction of Sighișoara, at 12 km from Rupea. The castle is located in the center of the village, at a distance of approximately 2 km from the national road, in the immediate vicinity of the Haller Manor.

The nearest accommodation possibilities can be found in Racoş or Rupea.

The village has three churches, according to the three religions: Unitarian, Reformed and Orthodox. Near the Guthman Valenta Castle lies the Kálnoky Castle as well as the Haller Manor, which currently functions as a school. At a distance of just 9 km from Hoghiz, lies the locality of Racoş, where tourists can visit the Sükösd-Bethlen Castle, as well as the recently renovated Rupea Castle, which is just 12 km away. In addition, the region „Erdővidék”, with its wonderful mansions, is just 20 km away, the Saxon region with fortified villages and churches, at about 30 km away, and the city of  Sighişoara at just 60 km away.
