Currently, the castle is in a semi-deteriorated condition, thus it is not open for visitors.

Mugeni is located on the route between Cristuru Secuiesc and Odorheiu Secuiesc, at 17 km from Cristuru Secuiesc and 10 km from Odorheiu Secuiesc, on the county road 137. The castle is in the middle of the village, near the famous Reformed Church. It is located at just 400 meters from the train station.

The village has several guest houses, including the following: Ildikó Pension (28 places), Erdő Pension (45 places), Székelykapu Pension (16 places), Ilyés Pension (18 places) and Virágos Pension (11 places).

The Reformed Church of Mugeni, one of the most beautiful medieval monuments of the region, is located in the old village center. The church dates from the 18th century and its walls contain the mural paintings of St. Ladislau's legend. The region is a treasure trove of arts, traditions and customs, which is why we recommend visiting the surrounding villages. In addition, Odorheiu Secuiesc is just at 10 km distance.
